How do they make money?
Vehicle Sales: The largest portion of Tesla’s revenue comes from selling electric vehicles (EVs). Tesla offers a range of models, including the Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y. As demand for electric vehicles grows, vehicles sales are the primary driver of revenue.
Energy Generation and Storage: Tesla sells solar energy products (solar panels, solar roofs) and energy storage solutions (Powerwall, Powerpack). These products help consumers generate and store renewable energy for homes and businesses.
Regulatory Credits: Tesla sells regulatory credits to other automakers. These credits are given to companies that produce electric vehicles or meet specific environmental regulations. Tesla has been able to generate revenue by selling these credits to automakers who need them to comply with emission standards.
Services and Other Resources: Tesla also generates money from providing services such as maintenance, repairs, and software updates for its vehicles. In addition, Tesla offers financial products like leasing and financing for vehicle buyers, adding to its income.
